Installation of Safeout

Installation of the Safeout Release sytem is a straightforward procedure which can be accomplished by the average user.  If you do not feel comfortable with a screw driver, Safeout can easily be installed and inspected by your local ski shop.

1) Remove your old binding and mount the Safeout release unit to the ski in the existant holes, with screws provided. (If you are mounting the release unit to "blank" skis then follow the included instructions on proper positioning of the screw holes, or have this done at your ski shop.) On skis with "worn" mounting holes, the use of epoxy adhesive is recommended.

2) Mount the adaptor plate to the binding with screws provided.

3) Move the tension release lever to the "unlocked" position and practice snapping the binding into the release unit. Slide the tension release lever to the "locked" position and inspect the entire assembly. It should feel tight and solid.  Follow the included procedure for proper setting of the Tension adjustment screw.
